1st Class SMART & Body Vehicle Repairs Ltd, a busy vehicle bodyshop based near
Ely, Cambridgeshire is currently looking for a Paint Sprayer.
Candidates must have excellent Paint Spraying skills and must have a good
knowledge of all modern vehicle repair methods and paints including water based.
To apply you must have:
Experience working within a Bodyshop / accident repair centre as a paint sprayer
The successful candidate will be required to carry out all types of vehicle body
refinishing work using appropriate methods on all makes of vehicles.
We are looking for an experienced and highly efficient individual, as all work must
be completed to the required standard first time. You will be a team player but
also capable of managing your own workload.

Paint Sprayer
Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire. CB6
Salary: Competitive DOE
Contract: Fulltime, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm some weekend work required on a rota
system to be discussed
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and confident
Paint Sprayer/Vehicle repairer to join our friendly family run team.
Paint Sprayer/Vehicle repairer: About the role
You will be working on all makes and models of vehicles, including commercial/trade and private customer vehicles.
You may also be required to lend your painting/repairing skills to other non vehicular items.
Main Responsibilities:

Assist with all aspects of prepping vehicles to a high standard.

Be able to identify if a vehicle is correctly prepped and ready for paint.

Consistently paint vehicles to a high commercial/trade and private standard.

Able to mix and match paint as required.

Inspect and rectify paint runs / defects.

Help maintain a good, clean, organised working environment
What we need from you:
The ideal candidate will have these qualities:

Must have minimum 3 years’ experience as a vehicle painter

Attention to detail

Concentration & coordination
-
Reliable / good time keeping
-
Excellent communication / listening skills
-
Works well in a team and independently.

Team worker and happy to assist, allow apprentices opportunities for learning if required.

Own spray equipment (preferred but not a deal breaker for the right candidate)

Previous prepping and painting experience (preferably on a range of different vehicles)

Preferred qualities:
-
Carry out vehicle body repair and painting to manufacturer's standards and in line with company procedures.

Produce good productivity levels.
-
Comply with health and safety rules and regulations and ensure the correct PPE is worn/used throughout and report any failings through the reporting procedure

Ensure all paperwork is completed correctly, legible and handed in on time.

Conduct themselves in a professional manner both at workshop, office and while driving, treating members of the public with courtesy at all times.

Highlight any shortfalls or issues relating to safety or maintenance immediately to the appropriate manager.

Maintain a clean and tidy work area and ensure all tooling and specialist equipment is checked, tested and compliant in line with company policy.

Maintain sufficient security measures to prevent theft of company/personal property during and after normal working hours.
Qualifications
-
Hold recognised qualifications demonstrating a time served apprenticeship within the vehicle body repair industry with three years minimum post apprenticeship experience

Hold a full UK Driving Licence

A good standard of both written and spoken English.

Ability to work well under pressure.

Ability to work well as part of a team and also under your own initiative when required.

Be a well organised individual with excellent time management.

Demonstrate a desire for self improvement and enthusiasm to learn new skills including attending training courses both in house and external
